I grew up in various places since my family moved around a lot during my childhood. However, I predominantly spent most of my childhood years in the coastal town of Rockingham.
My journey into the exercise physiology industry began with a fascination with the human body and its incredible capabilities. From a young age, I was captivated by how movement, exercise, and physical activity could profoundly affect health and well-being. This curiosity led me to pursue a career in exercise physiology, where I could merge my love for science with my desire to help people. I was particularly drawn to this field because it offers the opportunity to make a tangible difference in people’s lives, helping them overcome physical challenges and achieve their personal health goals. The ability to work with such diverse populations—from the elderly to children, athletes, and individuals living with disabilities—means that every day is incredibly rewarding.
I prefer morning workouts because they set a positive tone for the rest of the day, boost my energy levels, and help me stay focused and productive. There’s something invigorating about starting the day with physical activity, and it ensures that I prioritize my fitness routine before other commitments arise. However, I find that my body takes a while to wake up fully in the morning, so I enjoy going for a walk to ease into the day. For more intense workouts like strength training or Pilates, I prefer the evening when I’m more alert and warmed up. This balance allows me to maintain a consistent and enjoyable fitness routine.
My favorite motivational quote is, “Strength doesn’t come from what you can do. It comes from overcoming the things you once thought you couldn’t.” This quote inspires me to push past my limits and continually strive for improvement in all aspects of my life.
The most influential person in my life has been my mum. She raised my sister and me, often facing significant challenges along the way. Despite these obstacles, she demonstrated incredible strength, resilience, and unwavering love. Her ability to persevere and remain positive in the face of adversity has inspired me to approach life with the same determination and compassion. My mum’s influence has shaped who I am today, both personally and professionally.
